Melton Not Sorry for Destroyed HomeWitnesses said Mayor Frank Melton and a group of young men destroyed a home on Ridgeway St. in Jackson with sledgehammers last Saturday night. Now the occupant's family is speaking out. The mayor said the home was a well-known drug house. "The people in the neighborhood, if they were to be honest with you, will tell you that young kids are over there selling dope and using narcotics. So we put him in jail," said Melton. Evans Welch, 45, is now serving 120 days in the Raymond Detention Center. Witnesses said after his arrest, the mayor allowed this to happen. Sonny Perdue bought about 100 acres next to his Houston County home in 2004 even though he has since expressed reluctance about buying land in Georgia while in office because critics would assail him over potential conflicts of interest. Anchoring generationsThat's bedtime for Georgianna, my 4-year-old daughter sitting in the tent next to me, expecting milk and a story. I had no idea how I would get her to sleep and began to wonder what, exactly, I was doing at this reservoir. The federal government is in the midst of a decade-long effort to remake this reservoir in the eastern corner of Napa County. It intends to scrape the lake clear of private trailers now dotting the lake's seven resorts, push long-term users from the shoreline and open the place up to more campers, wilderness seekers and vacationers looking for a weekend getaway. My stories over the years invariably quoted Bureau of Reclamation bureaucrats and their supporters who claim these trailers hog prime lakefront views, are an eyesore and keep others particularly campers from enjoying the largest lake within a two-hour drive of San Francisco. read more. News from Schaumburg Flyers BaseballJoliet, IL - Five was indeed an unlucky number for the Schaumburg Flyers on Saturday evening. The Joliet Jackhammers tallied five consecutive base hits, capped by a 3-run home run by Joliet second baseman Blake Gill off of Schaumburg starter Dave Dobosz, as part of a five run first inning which dealt the Flyers their fifth defeat in as many games by a final score of 8-3. After winning his last start at Gary on August 29th, Dobosz (4-6) surrendered 12 hits in his five innings of work and was saddled with the loss. Gill scored three of the Jackhammers' eight runs on a 2-for-4 night at the plate but it was DH Rob Stratton who "rocked" the Flyers literally and figuratively. In addition to his 3-for-4 performance, which included a single, an RBI double and a solo home run, Stratton also bowled over Flyers' catcher Ryan Walker in a huge collision at the plate in the first inning. read more. Harcourts all the rage to take titlePip Lynch, Sophie Ross, Jesse Smith and Harriet Somerville they have a group of very talented youngsters who have not only starred on the club scene, but also at representative level. Gladstone All Blacks, for their part, will be keen to slow the tempo of the game down and rely on the experience of players such as Celia Donaldson, Lisa Manihera, Jo, Booth and Katie Anderson to force St Matthew's into errors. They are sure to make a competitive game of it, but whether they can upset the rhythm of the college side enough to beat them is debatable, to say the least Whichever of the two teams qualifies for the grand final though their chances of beating Harcourts are slim. With talented players like Hope Phillips, Emma Foote, Kelly Sargent. Katie Wyeth, Lisa Butler and Geraldine Carroll to call on, Harcourts are well served at both the defensive and attacking ends of the court, and their midcourt work is generally impressive as well. read more. The industry centered around Buying A Home For Sale By Owner is a wonderful industry and learning more about it can be very fruitful.
